A little break

So the last two weeks of my stay were rather hectic, without time or energy to do more than the necessary. For that reason, I will try to catch you up on all that went on....

Getting our chocolate fix!

The Sunday of moving week, Kati and I got the chance to meet up with a work team in the area. They had come the night before and helped take down some ceiling fans and fixed supper (chicken salad--none of the girls had ever had it but they all loved it!) for all of us at EFP. Since Kati and I had not had much time to get out, we drove over to their hotel Sunday morning and got to sit in on their devotions then joined them for exploration of an old Spanish fortress in Omoa. It was a nice break from packing and encouraging to hear the groups' stories. There was an older couple that has served on Mercy Ships for a long time who did all they could to convince us we need to go work on the ship.

Since Kati and I had not had much time to get out, we drove over to their hotel Sunday morning and got to sit in on their devotions then joined them for exploration of an old Spanish fortress in Omoa. The fortress was interesting--over 450 years ago, on a follow-up trip of Columbus', he sailed all along the Honduran coast. The beginnings of this fort started then.

We ate lunch with the group afterwards at the hotel and stayed around and talked for a while. It was a nice break from packing and encouraging to hear the groups' stories. There was an older couple that has served on Mercy Ships for a long time who did all they could to convince us we need to go work on the ship. After we ate, we headed back to the house to--you guessed it--pack some more!
